Use by and best before dates
NOTE! SOME OF OUR PRODUCTS ARE PAST BEST BEFORE DATE BUT THEY ARE STILL GOOD AND SELLABLE.
Many of the products are labelled a short ‘Best Before’ (BB) date as they have not been made for export, and shelflife in Australia is rather short as they are high demand products with a fast turnover.
Having the products shipped to Europe shortens the BB date with up to 3 months, but the products are good up to 9 months beyond the BB date and some even longer.
Of course we strive to sell the products as quick as we can, but this simply isn’t possible for all products :-(
If you find anything wrong with a product bought in our shop or web shop, please contact us and we’ll swap the product or give you a refund.
The Best Before date for the products in the web shop is shown in the Specification tab on the product card
Date marks give a guide to how long food can be kept before it begins to deteriorate or may become unsafe to eat.
The two types of date marking are 'Use By' dates and 'Best Before' dates. The food supplier is responsible for placing a use by or best before date on food.
Foods that must be eaten before a certain time for health or safety reasons should be marked with a use by date. Foods should not be eaten after the use by date and can’t legally be sold after this date because they may pose a health or safety risk.
Most foods have a best before date. You can still eat foods for a while after the best before date as they should be safe but they may have lost some quality. Foods that have a best before date can legally be sold after that date provided the food is fit for human consumption.
